My last post of the 7 day landscape challenge

Well this is it! The last day of my 7 day landscape challenge. I have to say i have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and really appreciate the fantastic comments and the likes from my facebook friends and also other facebook users who have come to my images through you sharing my images with your friends.

My last image was taken at Fairy Glen at Betwys- y - coed in North Wales. It was a hazardous walk down to the river bed but worth the hazards to find such a beautiful, enchanted setting with lush, mossy greens, swirling water and huge granite rocks. I hope you enjoy this image and share with others. If you would like to see all my images then visit my blog on the 7 day challenge.

Day 6..... And now for something completely different!

Day 6! The penultimate day of my 7 day challenge and I am putting something into the mix that you would not have seen from me before. The shot is captured in camera and is known as ICM (intentional camera movement). I captured this landscape of trees using a very slow shutter speed, but moving the camera in a vertical action and therefore repeating the scene more than once. The result can never be duplicated because of the exposure and movement used. It creates an abstract view of the subject, highlighting the colours and shapes.

It is not to everyones taste but I wanted to show you an example of this photographic process. As always i would welcome your feedback.

Day 5 and it is time for a black and white image

Day 5 and its time for a black and white image. As you might have noticed from 4 out of 5 of my uploaded images, that water is a key factor in my landscape work. If you look at my blog 'I-accept-the-7-day-challenge', you will read how artists look at the shapes and tones in a landscape and then it is how to best present the image.

With this landscape, which is of the dilapidated sea defences at Happisburgh, on the North Norfolk Coast, I wanted to promote the graphic structures of the subject and capture the swirls of the waves over the sand by using a very slow shutter speed.

Thank you once again for the fabulous comments and the likes of the previous images seen. Hopefully you will like this image as well! Some of you have shared this image with your own friends which has led to many new visitors to my photography. Please continue the sharing. It is most appreciated!

Day 4 and half way through the 7 day challenge

Half way through the 7 day challenge and i have chosen a seascape from Burnham Overy Staithe as my subject. I love this place and whenever we travel to the North Norfolk coast we have to visit this very quaint stretch of coastline. The fish stall there sells the most delicious cockles and whelks and the coastal path takes you to some amazing boat wrecks, fishing huts, nets etc. The blue boat stuck on the mud banks was there to be captured. I was drawn to the colour similarity of the boat and the sky. I hope you enjoy it!

The Landscape Challenge ......Day 3

Three days in to the challenge brings me to a more local view of the beautiful Kent Countryside near Goodnestone. The rustic charm of this Kent Farm with its skeletal tree leaning into the wind reminded me of my childhood memories of how I saw a farm. It just had to be captured!

The Landscape Challenge......Day 2

Day two and the subject changes to a cold and frosty early morning in Norfolk. When a severe frost, a body of water and a strengthening sunrise come together then beautiful mists are created that hover above the surface of the slow, meandering stream. I love the way the blades of grass are silhouetted against the sunrise and I wanted to accentuate the frozen clumps of marsh grass.
Thank you for all your great comments and likes for my previous image of Stourhead. I hope you enjoy this image as well?
